Questions before you pack?

Are NOMaste freeze-dried meals vegan and gluten-free?

Yes. Every NOMaste meal is vegan and gluten-free, made with ingredients like lentils, chickpeas, tofu, vegetables, rice and Indian spices.

How much protein is in a NOMaste backpacking meal?

Every pouch has 30+ grams of plant-based protein. Depending on the recipe, NOMaste meals range from 31–38 grams of protein per pouch, with two servings in each pouch.

Are freeze-dried meals good for backpacking and camping?

Yes. Freeze-drying removes most of the water from food, making meals lightweight and easy to pack. NOMaste meals are made for backpacking, camping, paddling, road trips and other adventures where carrying fresh food isn't practical.

How do I prepare a NOMaste meal on the trail?

Add hot water directly to the pouch, reseal and let the meal rehydrate. Give it a good stir before eating. Water amounts and rehydration time vary slightly by meal, so follow the instructions on the pouch.

What makes NOMaste different from other backpacking meals?

NOMaste meals are cooked as complete meals before they're freeze-dried. They're vegan, gluten-free and made in small batches with real ingredients, no preservatives and bold Indian flavors.
